What is Reach

CathCom Reach
CathCom Reach is a newspaper distributed through Catholic Primary Schools and parishes specifically for parents and children. It provides catechetical teaching giving parents the opportunity to explore and deepen their faith. By combining this with articles about parenting it offers an engaging read which will appeal to all parents.

Your mission

Catholic School Mission

CathCom Reach fits perfectly with the mission statement of any Catholic Primary School and with the role of any parish. It gives a unique opportunity to offer Catholic teaching to parents as well as children. By producing a newspaper which we feel will appeal to both Catholic and non-Catholic parents we will be working with you to widen the Catholic community.

Your Parents

Catholic Parents

All your parents will be from a variety of backgrounds and situations. However, the common factor will be that they are parents - therefore, very busy. The paper will encourage parents to find some space in their lives and think about the "bigger questions" that all too often are left unanswered.

Your Children

Catholic Parents

Inside the publication there is a newspaper specifically for the children of Primary school age. We hope that they will feel this is "their" publication and to aid that we are asking the children to name the newspaper. The children's paper has a vibrant design and contains prayer, articles and puzzles.

Religious Eduction

Catholic Parents

The contents of the children's paper makes it an ideal addition to RE in schools. By working with the Catholic Teacher Training colleges we are aiming to make it as relevant to what is taught in the classroom as possible. Also, by offering a newspaper we hope this will be a totally different style of resource, which we are sure will make it engaging for the children.

Literacy

Catholic Parents

The very fact that we will be encouraging all the children to own a newspaper, open it and read it will be hugely beneficial in terms of the their literacy. We are confident that giving children their own newspaper will make them feel grown up and make them even more enthusiastic about reading.
